A motley group of young couples and swinging singles get together at an experimental encounter group run by Dr. Lloyd Davis (an engagingly earnest portrayal by Tom Stevens) in order to surmount their various sexual hang-ups.

Director Anthony Spinelli, working from an unusually thoughtful script by Michael Abel and Stanley Zero, handles the potentially lurid subject matter in a tactful manner that avoids crass sensationalism as well as manages to craft a sensuous atmosphere which never becomes sleazy. Moreover, there are surprising moments of raw honesty and unexpected tenderness which give this picture additional substance and poignancy.

The solid acting by a capable cast of familiar adult cinema faces rates as another significant asset: George "Buck" Flower as jocular and obnoxious salesman Harry Belmont, Sandy Dempsey as the sweet, but aggressive Marianne Nelson, Ric Lutz as the insecure Bill Bradford, Andy Bellamy as the frigid and unhappy Lisa Stevens, John Keith as Lisa's angry husband Robert, Rene Bond as the timid and repressed Doris Welby, Richard Smedley as arrogant womanizer James Salter, and Suzanne Fields as prickly lesbian Betsy Lyman. Dale Smallin's no-frills cinematography provides an appropriately naturalistic look. Steve Seretan's alternately funky and harmonic score hits the get-down groovy spot. Well worth a watch.
